Knee degeneration should be a concern for many people with knee problems. Even some young people in their twenties and thirties are beginning to wonder if their joints have degenerated prematurely.

What Are the Symptoms of Knee Degeneration?

1, Knee deformity
Many people have straight knees, but when they get older, they could be bow-legged.
This is actually caused by knee degradation. When our knees wear out, the inner meniscus wears out more quickly.
When the inner meniscus becomes narrower and the outside becomes wider, here comes bow-legs.
Another sign of knee deformation can also be swollen of the knee joint inner side. Even some people will have degeneration on one knee and no degeneration on the other, and they will find that the knee that has degeneration has obvious swelling.
2, Knee fossa cyst
Knee fossa cyst is also called Becker’s cyst.
Many people will worry about whether it’s a tumor when they find a large cyst behind their knee fossa, and then they will go to the oncology department nervously.
Becker’s cyst is actually because the knee degenerates so badly that the capsule ruptures a little bit. The joint fluid flows back into the capsule, forming a small ball in the back area.
If you have this problem now and the back of your knee is as swollen as a steamed bread, you can go to a doctor and extract the tissue fluid inside.
3, The knee can’t be bent over 90 degrees while lying down
This kind of knee bending doesn’t necessarily mean that people bend by themselves, but when someone else helps, they still can’t make it. If it was not because of a recent fall or an accidental injury, it could be knee arthritis.
In this condition, the joint surface is inflamed to a very serious extent. When bending below 90 degrees, it will be severe pain, and some people would be afraid of bending their knee joint again.
Do Not Worry About Knee Degeneration too Much
After recognizing all these three symptoms, some people may immediately become nervous, thinking that their knees have seriously deteriorated, and may in need of knee replacement.
In fact, knee degeneration does not necessarily need knee replacement. Knee degeneration is a natural process in life because it is responsible for bearing the weight of our body.
Most people, between the ages of 60 and 70, will have obvious knee deterioration. Those with more intense exercise will be likely to have the condition in their 40s and 50s.
So, if you are young, don’t worry too much about knee problems. If you are still worrying about the degeneration, put more emphasis on lower limb muscle strength exercises.
