About Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Robot A6-2S

Based on computer technology, the arm rehabilitation and assessment robotics can simulate the upper limb movement in real time according to the rehabilitation medicine theory. It enables training in 6 major degrees of freedom in three-dimensional space, realizing the precise control in 3D space. Accurate evaluation can be made for the six motion directions (shoulder adduction and abduction, shoulder flexion, shoulder joint extorsion and intorsion, elbow flexion, forearm pronation and supination, and wrist palmar flexion and dorsiflexion) of the three major motion joints of the upper limb (shoulder, elbow and wrist). It can analyze assessment data in real time so as to help therapists make treatment plans, which enhances clinical efficiency. The system has five training modes including passive training, active-passive training and active training. It can be used throughout the whole rehabilitation cycle. The training function is integrated with various task-oriented situational virtual interactive games, offering patients with various personalized training, improving patients’ initiatives and dependency, and accelerating patients’ rehabilitation progress. Assessment and training data will be recorded, saved, analyzed and can be shared in real time when the system is connected to the internet.

A6 is applicable to patients with upper limb dysfunction or limited function due to central nervous system, peripheral nerve, spinal cord, muscle, or bone disease. The product supports specific exercises, increases the strength of the muscles, enlarges the range of motion for the joints, and improves motor function.

5 Training Modes of Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Robot A6-2S

Passive Training Mode

Through the ‘trajectory programming’ mode, therapists can set parameters such as targeted joint name, range of motion and joint movement speed so as to provide personalized and targeted passive trajectory training for patients. Through the interesting situational games, the passive training will be more enjoyable.

Active-Passive Training Mode

The system assists patients to complete training through the adjustment over ‘guiding force’. The greater the guiding force is, the higher the system auxiliary degree; the smaller the guiding force is, the higher the patient active participation degree. Therapists can set guiding force according to patient’s muscle strength degree so as to stimulate patient’s residual muscle strength to the maximum extend in the game training process.

Active Training Mode

Patients can freely drive the mechanical arm to move in any direction in three-dimensional space. Therapists can make personalized selection of training joints according to the patient’s needs and select interactive games accordingly for single joint or multiple joint training. In this way, patients’ training initiative can be improved and the rehabilitation progress can be accelerated.

Prescription Training Mode

This mode is more inclined to training of daily living and occupational therapy, involving various activities of daily living such as combing hair, eating, etc. Therapists can choose training prescriptions accordingly to help patient quickly start training. Trajectory Learning Mode
